Balding,A good little radio and inexpensive. All settings are menu driven but not hard to do. You have to program the shift and whether plus or minus. Can also be programmed with a computer but knowing how to do it manually is a plus in the field. It also has an FM radio which can be activated with one button. There are plenty of u tube videos available for help.
Straight forward text. Fairly easy to understand. Had it a step-by-step setup walkthrough, I would have given it five stars. Still, the text was presented in an uncomplicated manner. I will check YT for a walk-thru. Getting the contents of this book under my belt assures that I will know the Baofeng UV-5 series thoroughly and be confident no matter what.
I read the entire text of the book. I found the content and syntax to be very readable and applicable. I have become much more familiar with my UV5R radios since reading this book.I recommend it to anyone needing this information.
I am new to ham radio with no handy Elmer's around I'm looking for good resources. This book is easy to navigate and is written at a level I can undeestand .
Outstanding. Much easier to understand and use than the manual produced by Baofeng. If you own one of these neat little radios I would highly recommend you purchase this book.... and keep it handy.
There are some pages that were incomplete in this version as read on my smartphone. This prevented me from giving a 5 star rating.
