Very good book. I have read several books about Martha's murder and this was the best.

I found this book very informative. I thought that I knew quite a bit about the Moxley Murder, but I guess I didn't know some very important facts. Joe Bruno did his homework, as usual!! He did a great job. I would recommend this book and many of the others of his. Great reading!!

This novel was 100 pages too long. There is a lot of juvenile psychological evaluations. In the end I think the juries got it right. The families connections are amazing.

I just downloaded this book this morning and can't put it down! Very well written and enticing from the first page.

Joe Bruno never disappoints. This is a compelling, informative book. I could not stop reading it!

I think Bruno did a good job but after reading Robert Kennedy's book regarding the trial and sentencing of his cousin, I'm going to go back and reread Bruno's work. Once I've finished, I'll come back and give a full review. I do suggest readers should read additional documentation regarding the murder of Martha Moxley, in particular Kennedy's book......

Joe Bruno`s latest book was certainly a great read and thoroughly researched. A must read for anyone who wants to know the full story of Martha Moxley`s murder. It took the court system 27 years to finally convict Skakel by a jury of his peers. Most people who followed the case for almost three decades have asked for the reasons why it took such a long time to get justice for Martha. Joe Bruno`s brilliant book explains it all.

This book was edited so poorly, and more importantly, not even fact checked. Certain towns, for instance, are not even id'd in the correct state! Too many errors to list. Loses all credibility with huge errors like these. Another example of the dumbing down of publishing...very sad.

If you like to read autobiographies about random people this is a fun, easy read. Read the whole book in Brian's voice.

Growing into adolescence in the 1970s and 80s was one part torture and ... well, the other part was just a different kind of torture. The Beatles had broken up just as all the energy and excitement of the late 60s dissipated, and there we were, the last generation to come of age without a computer to occupy our time, and with only three channels to choose from on a small TV, and I was four years older than Posehn so didn't have the benefit of a VCR and movie rentals. But then some true heroes arrived to rescue us in the form of Lucas and Spielberg. And where Posehn found AC/DC and KISS, I found John Williams and James Horner. And of course, if you're a nerd, nothing's better than a shelf full of soundtracks. Who else knew that Williams stole his own music from The Cowboys when he penned the score for Superman's stepfather's death? But I digress.Posehn's stream of consciousness will ring true for so many of my peers from the era. For me, I simply changed heavy metal to soundtracks, and then changed the names of the bullies as well as the names of the attractive and impossible-to-so-much-as-talk-to. And his horror was my science fiction, though my seeing The Omen in the theater when I was 13 left me with a long life of looking in photographs for lines of unknown origin aimed at my neck. Those for whom the book doesn't ring true are probably the aforementioned bullies or attractive popular people, who won't get more than a couple of pages into this text before saying, "What the bleep is he talking about?" And then they'll put the book down never to return. But if you were one of the outsiders looking in, and even if you still are, and especially if you don't yet realize that being on the outside is far more interesting than being on the inside, Posehn's text is entertaining and an enthusiastic reminder of what life was like for kids and teens in the politically incorrect 70s and beyond.

When I first saw this book, I thought "Who is Brian Posehn and why does the world need a book about him?" I did a little search engine magic, and realized he's a very familiar character actor and comedian. And then I realized he held a few of the same interests as me and I love a good biography, so I was excited to read it.When comedians write books, it can be hit or miss- several extraordinarily funny comedians have written memoirs that are designed to be as funny as their acts, but they fall flat because their voice is missing from them. This is *not* the case with "Forever Nerdy"- Posehn is an awesome storyteller, and his comedic voice and personalities definitely translates to his writing style. You can hear him narrating the book, telling you these stories.And Posehn is true to himself- this isn't book about what's he accomplished and how all his experiences made him into the man he is, instead it's a book about what he's all about. His experiences have definitely shaped him- everything from Star Wars to Rush to his crappy time in high school (oh my gosh, those chapters *really* resonated- music got me through high school, too), to discovering Kiss to breaking his back (there's a Spina Bifida mention in that chapter, which I have, so so I decided that was an unintentional shout out to me), to how James Hetfield dissed him twice (almost...), to how he got into comedy, to how he met his wife, to how much he revered his grandma, to his relationship with his mom... all of these things are not told as "here's what I went through and how they made me stronger" but rather "hey, let me tell you about the time this happened."It's just great to read a book that's not only genuinely entertaining but also *real*. Sometimes life has really strange ways of getting you from point A to point Z and it doesn't go as you'd think it should or as you'd expect, and there are lots of highs and many lows (many, many lows) along the way, but I think the thing I came away from this book with is that Posehn is a great example of how staying true to yourself and not sugar-coating everything can really lead you to where you need to be in life.As far as laughs- I RARELY laugh out loud at books, but there were several things that made me have to stop reading so I could catch my breath- especially the Elvis Windmill episode.Just read it. It's a lot funny and a little dirty and just generally entertaining, and I would totally buy this guy a cup of coffee if I ever ran into him. I hope he writes another book- I'm sure he has a zillion more stories to tell.

This book was a generally fun read, but fun like ice cream - it didn't stick with me all that well.I felt like this was a good biography for any child of the 1970s-80s, and the whole nerd culture of that era really came to life - I saw myself in a LOT of this, uncomfortably so, but in a funny way. The nerdiness, the divorce, the movies, the games, the silly hobbies that my whole life revolved around.Why the book was just three stars was mostly just the lack of a change. It was fun, but the stream of conciousness style seemed less deliberate and a little too weakly edited. Like it was a quick draft he wrote, but instead of serious editing, they just let an early draft stand alone. I don't think that's actually the case, but how it it read to me. So I was entertained, but not in a deep way.A good comeback to that is what was I expecting? The book is described pretty accurately and maybe it's unfair for me to expect more depth. Still, I did.I did know how Brian Posehn is, and I do think this was a funny book. I think if you're expecting a fun - but also often tragic - romp through the 70s and 80s, you'll appreciate and enjoy it....but how much it sticks with you, I dunno. Not much.I could give this four stars and be fair. I'm giving it three stars so potential customers who expect some sort of deep epiphanies in themselves (the author has plenty, but I didn't feel the carryover) know that this isn't that kind of book.

Chef Steve and Jason are great, I just met them last week at Cal A Vie, but their attention to detail and the meticulous way that this book was created is evident page by page.As someone who has been to the spa I wish there were even more recipes and less about the spa because I just cannot get enough of the recipes. You really will not regret this beautiful book that has some incredible content.Each recipe has the calorie counts which is great for those that are trying to watch their diet.I cannot wait for the 2nd book!

I got more than I bargained for from this book. I thought it was going to be "a recipe book", but it's so much more. I knew the food would be nutritious, but I didn't fully appreciate the lengths Cal-a-vie go to in order to give nutritional values for every recipe. The daily menu is excellent, and the full colour glossy photos just make you want to prepare the dishes as soon as you can. Lovely! All-in-all it's a beautifully presented book - very classy, probably just like Cal-a-vie itself, although I've never been... yet!Also, I was delighted when the book arrived sooner than expected. Berardinelli participates in legal organizations including the New Mexico Trial Layers Association, the American Academy of Trial Advocacy, and the American Association of Justice. And editor of the New Mexico Trial Lawyer, and a lecturer to legal audiences, he also publishes a regular column on insurance bad faith. He is the attorney who sued Allstate and uncovered the infamous McKinsey Slides. Executive Summary: If you have a claim against Allstate, Farmers, State Farm, etc. you have a choice to make. Do you want your claim paid promptly or fairly? Most people choose promptly because they need the money right away. They accept 60%-70% of their claim value. If you want to be paid fairly, then retain a lawyer immediately.Further note: Lawyers and prospective plaintiffs should read this book. It flows well and quickly. It also helps you realize what you're about to get into. Insurance companies don't play nice or fair. That's to be expected though because Berardinelli assembles the facts and presents a clear case of what these companies actually are - and it ain't nice. Basically, they are predatory and use peoples moments of greatest weakness as profitable opportunities.OK OK, a bit about the actual book.Berardinelli points out early why insurance companies are regulated differently from other companies. It's because they, essentially, hold their customer's money in trust with the promise of paying out that money when the customers need it. The problems arise when an insurance company decides that it would rather pay that money to its executive and shareholders. Unlike other companies, like retailers, you pay insurance in return for the promise that someday, if you need ever it, your claim will be paid promptly and fairly.Sadly, they have no interest in keeping their promise. Insurance executives get paid out of the profits, the more the better.So, the insurance companies are structured with processes that maximize profits. Maximizing profits means ripping off the customers as much as possible. The only thing that keeps them in check is litigation. That's why insurance companies are so very interested in tort reform. They make a nice profit if they hose 99 people out of $5,000 and pay 1 person $100,000 in punitive damages for unfair business practices. A very nice profit indeed.

I'm not aware of another book of this quality, insight or ease of reading on this subject. The author devoted years of tenacious detective work and fact-finding in order to obtain insights and previously confidential information about claims practices at Allstate Insurance. His findings are credible and fact-based. His intellectual curiosity and inferential thinking are very strong, yet his ability to piece together and tell the story in simple, easy-to-read and highly understandable language are even more impressive. This is a first rate job of analysis of an important topic. It focuses on the claims practices initially instituted by Allstate Insurance in its automobile business and subsequently spread throughout it's property and casualty business. The net effect was to greatly reduce settlements to Allstate's customers and claimants while growing the company's operating profits significantly. It both raises deep concerns about, and also helps to explain how anti-consumer practices of such great magnitude could have escaped the detection of regulatory and oversight agencies for so long.Since the book was published, sufficient additional information has come to light through the availability of respected management consultant McKinsey & Company's work for Allstate that a follow-up version of this book would be even more valuable. Nonetheless this book is essential reading for individuals who believe that their insurance claims may not have been handled fairly by Allstate, or who may be considering the purchase of home, auto or other P&C insurance from Allstate. Overall it is an impressive, insightful, important and highly readable piece of work. Great book

All I can say is shame on you Allstate for the horrific acts you have performed that have been written in this book. Its funny how they spend so much money on advertising about how much you are in good hands when the fact of the matter is they have been ranked the worst insurance company in the US. Great job by David Bernadelli on exposing the Mackensie scam that made the profits of this corrupt insurance company explode through the roof.

Being a Public Adjuster, I know some of the tricks played by the insurance companies, but now I have a better, in depth, appreciation of the history of their gamesmanship. I wish I could hand this book over to every insured I meet at a loss and then they would not think me as a firetruck chaser. What you don't know will hurt you.

After reading this and anyone going through a major claim needs to hire or at least consult a Public Adjuster. I pay the insurance company in good faith EVERY month, I deserve and expect the same monetary compensation to bring my claim whole again. I personally will never embark on a claim without a Public Adjuster in my corner.

Extremely interesting look at schizophrenia. This review cannot do it justice. If you want to understand schizophrenia's impact on people at an individual level, read this book. I especially like how the book is not Euro- or America- centric. It gives a really balanced overview of schizophrenia across cultures, and it's surprising how much is in common, and how much the West could learn from how people in India and other places handle this disorder -- in many ways, though they have less medical resources, this book reveals how an Indian schizophrenic is better off than an American one.

I will forever be on the hunt for another book that I enjoyed reading as much as this one. Having worked with people with schizophrenia in both the United States as well as Sri Lanka, I was so excited to read this book. I am currently traveling through Asia interning at various National Institute of Mental Health facilities and this book has not only helped me better understand my patients, but the cultures that I am living in as well. I could not recommend it enough because it is highly informative, eye opening, and wonderfully written. I will carry it with me throughout my future career and reread it frequently.

Returned. Too hard of a read for laypeople.
